Full of retro, jazzy sounds and funky beats, ‘Tell Me’ shows off its unique sound from the opening seconds. The understated track doesn’t overdo it either, with the two verses (led by a soulful vocal) being separated by a heartfelt saxophone solo that matches the distant accompaniment beneath. The track is taken from Iamalex’s upcoming EP, to be released on Soundplate Records soon after a summer full of performances, collaborations and new music (like the well-received ‘La Piña’ from July). -Dan Peeke
